Arabella Ricci's "Nero"

Nero... is he a tyrant? Yes, undeniably. Is he a murderer? Yes, no argument here—he even murdered his own mother. Is he a monster? Yes, you bet. He burned a city, for God's sake!

But... he is also the hero of this story. I've read it. Do I like him? No, never. He's not a character to be liked. But I can't help being fascinated by him. If you read this story, I bet you'll be fascinated, too.

And the heroine, Junia—is she so brave that she isn't frightened by him? No, she's terrified of him. Yet... yet she speaks the truth, and at the emperor's court, that is quite unique. And the fact that Nero finds her honesty irresistible—what does it tell us about him?
